Model 'humiliated' after flight attendant tells her to cover up

An Instagram and OnlyFans model who was told to "cover up" on a plane has hit back at vile social media trolls trying to shame her.

Isabelle Eleanore felt humiliated after a Jetstar flight attendant claimed her black crop top was inappropriate for flying and handed her a hi-vis vest to wear over it.

The 28-year-old, from Gold Coast, Australia, was so embarrassed she has vowed to never fly with the airline again.

After sharing her story online, Isabelle was bombarded with abuse from "haters" who claimed she was "not entitled to be humiliated" because she poses in lingerie and has an OnlyFans account.

The abuse became so much that she turned off comments on her Instagram page and told her 60,000 followers: "There is a massive difference between public humiliation over being fully clothed and being comfortable enough in my own skin to post photos of myself in a bikini/lingerie and running a successful business on OnlyFans.

"Self-confidence does not mean I am immune to embarrassment, especially at the hands of someone else."

Isabelle told the Mirror that the she was unfairly attacked on social media.

She said: "They were saying I’m not allowed to be humiliated because I put my body all over social media and I run an OnlyFans, so how can I be embarrassed when I post my body on the internet, which is so wrong.

"I was being publicly humiliated at the hands of someone else (on the flight) but just because I am confident in myself to show my body on the internet doesn’t mean I’m immune from embarrassment.

"I am within my rights to wear whatever I want to wear and that really shouldn’t be questioned in 2021."

Isabelle said she was given a boost by positive message from people "saying they hope their daughters grow up to be as strong as I am and to stand up for themselves in situations like this".

Isabelle was boarding a Jetstar flight from Gold Coast to Melbourne on Monday night when she was stopped by a flight attendant and asked to wear a jumper over her crop top.

The flight attendant told her "You can't wear a bikini" and called over other crew members as they looked for something Isabelle could wear.

The flight attendant then returned with a hi-vis vest for the model to wear until she disembarked in Melbourne two hours later.

Isabelle, who was travelling with her husband Jeremy Szwarcbord, felt "embarrassed" and "degraded" as she wore the vest while walking down the aisle in front of other passengers.

She said her crop top wasn't inappropriate or revealing, and believes she would have been treated differently if she had smaller breasts or was a man.

Isabelle said she spoke to eight other Jetstar staff members before boarding and none of them mentioned anything about her clothing being inappropriate.

Low-cost airline Jetstar later apologised and said there was a "misunderstanding" of its policy on the part of the flight attendant.

The airline does not have a policy regarding crop tops.

Jetstar's website states there are "minimum dress requirements" for its flights and "offensive clothing" is banned.

Isabelle said she appreciates Jetstar's "underwhelming" apology but has no plans to fly with them again.

The company's front office told her the flight attendant "was acting on non-current policies".

She said: "I want them to make sure that this kind of situation doesn’t happen again. I don’t want anyone to go through that.

"That was the first time I’ve ever flown with them and it will probably be the last."

A spokesperson for Australia-based Jetstar, which is owned by Qantas, said the airline has apologised to Isabelle.

The spokesperson told the Mirror: "We've contacted Isabelle about her recent experience and have apologised for the way the situation was handled.

"There was a misunderstanding of what our policy was, and we have reminded our crew of our dress requirements

"While we do have basic dress requirements on our flights, for example shoes, we do not have any policy regarding crop tops."

It's not the first time the airline has been accused of shaming a female passenger over the outfit she was wearing.

In November 2019, writer Serah Nathan, then 33, claimed Jetstar staff "slu*t-shamed" her over the clothing she had on, moments after telling her off for sitting on her boyfriend's lap.

Serah, who had her tank top tucked under her bra, claims she was approached while waiting for a flight at Melbourne's airport.

But Jetstar rejected her version of the incident, saying staff denied her allegations of descrimination.
