Primordial Stones are a new system coming in Patch 10.0. 7. These stones will provide players with unique powers and can only be socketed in a new Ring called the Onyx Annulet and can be upgraded, broken down and crafted!

One way to obtain these gems is by looting chests within the Zskera Vaults, which can yield a decent amount of Primordial Stones. Additionally, players can purchase Condensed Magic items from Researcher Imareth, which can be used to create a Primordial Stone from a specific family.

For their weapons, Blood Death Knights have two choices: Howling Rune is a sensible default, increasing your haste by a flat amount for two hours. Alternatively, as a raw offensive alternative, Primal Weightstone (maces) or Primal Whetstone (other weapons) will increase your attack power by a flat amount.

For damage, primarily in dungeon environments, the Primordial Stones have been nerfed significantly and I would not recommend running them while in dungeons, I would only recommend their use in open world content as you are sacrificing healing to take this extra damage.

Primordial Stones start at Item Level 411. The first rank upgrade increases the Primordial Stone Item Level from 411 to 418. The second upgrade increases it from 418 to 424.

Primordial Stones can be broken down in Morqut Village, by the blacksmithing table next to Ham'urit. Approaching that table will bring up an extra action bar button allowing you to Break Primordial Stone.
